The Fall of the Lapine

A empty, quiet house is one of the most boring things someone can endure for long periods at a time without a good hobby. Unfortunately, Hollie was not one of those people to have many hobbies. A bit of an airhead, the rabbit was always one to get suckered into things she shouldn’t, or make a quick, snap of the moment decision that she should probably just ask somebody else about before hand. When left alone at home, her boyfriend off at a party with her brother for the night and nothing good on TV, these qualities can rapidly start to bubble up to the surface. Not to say that Hollie would always be at the wrong end of her own bad decisions. Sometimes she actually thought.

With nothing good on TV, a re-heated dinner waiting on the kitchen table and an itch for something entertaining, Hollie’s decision making skills were about to go one way or the other. She always did love parties. And her costumes were actually right there in a box off to the side. She hadn’t worn them in quite some time so they were a bit small on her, the generic schoolgirl and nurse outfits always hugging her just a bit too close for comfort, especially when it came to going around in public. But it was a costume party! She couldn’t show up NOT in costume. On the other hand, there was always the computer upstairs in her bedroom. A few hours on the internet would likely kill the time before her boyfriend arrived back home with her brother Alex in tow. Or the other way around, depending on which one was drinking more heavily.

Either way, the decision was persistent on the lapine’s mind. To wander out to a party with a bunch of people she didn’t know to find her boyfriend or twin in an outfit that would be more fitting on someone just a few years younger, or to sit at a computer and hope she found something cute or funny enough to occupy or time.
