The Elder Scrolls are set in the continent of Tamriel on the planet Nirn.
Tamriel is shared by ten playable races, four races of Men, Imperials, Nords, Bretons and Redguards, four races of Mer (Elves), Altmer (High Elves), Bosmer (Wood Elves), Dunmer (Dark Elves) and Orsimer (Pariah Elves or Orcs) and two "Beast Races", Argonians and Khajiit.
