The Boss

You sit in your office doing paperwork. The subject of this paperwork is really no concern it’s mostly just dealing with the big bosses upstairs selling off a small portion of the company to VSBC. That part of the company was hemorrhaging money like crazy. But some of the restructuring of the company following it has you overseeing the HR department, and several others.

The meeting that you are about to have in about 5 minutes will be with the head of the HR department Allie Smith. You’ve heard she’s quite the stickler for the rules. Should be an interesting meeting.

You hear a knocking on the door.

“Come in.” You say.

The handle quickly turns and a beautiful girl with long brown hair walks in and sticks out her hand,”Hello Mr. Veers, I’m Allie Smith.”

You meet her hand and shake it and say,”Hello Miss Smith, great to finally meet you. So we are here to talk about pay and management of the HR department. Correct?”

“Oh yes.” She responded.

“That’s great, so which would you wish to start with.”

“Specifically HR pay, I would like a raise and I would like my department to all get raises as well.”

“Hmmm, did you prepare a statement on by how much.”

“Myself would be up by 10k a year and my department all a 1k boost.”

You think for a second thinking of the cost. This is a lot of money, which you should be able to allocate, but you want to keep some of that for possible future deals, so you’re gonna try something a bit risky.

“I can only do one. I’ll give you the 10k raise.”

“No you can’t I need both done, HR deserves it.”

“Well I can make some sort of compromise. But I’m going to need something from you.”

“I’ll literally do almost anything.”

“Just what I wanted to hear.”
