Superpower outbreak

Everyone remembers where they were the day the world changed forever. Like most people you watched the fantastic events unfold first on tv and then in the skies and streets of your home town.

The experts all had their own theories as to what was happening ranging from the next stage in human evolution to the second coming. It soon became clear that nobody actually had a clue about what was really happening. The only thing anyone seemed to agree on was that all over the world people had begun manifesting impossible abilities.

You watched in horror as a passenger jet broke up in mid flight over the midwest only for the passengers and crew to float safely back to earth in a cloud of pink bubbles. A skinny young man in France stopping a runaway train with his bare hands. An interview with a girl in Australia with had suddenly grown to thirty feet tearing out of her clothes in the middle of the street. A little old lady in Portland who walked into a hospital and cured all the kids in the cancer ward. Your own neighbour sprouting wings and taking flight from his yard.

There didn’t seem to be any particular pattern to it the emerging super humans. They were old and young. Rich and poor. Of every race, gender and body type imaginable. The range of gifts they displayed bewildering in their variety. Most importantly as far as you were concerned was the undeniable fact that you were one of them.

As that fateful day wore on you came to realise that you had been blessed or cursed with a power of your own. How you choose to use it is up to you...
