Sudden life change in our relationship

My name is Håkon Hansen. I am 22 years old. I am from Stavanger in Norway.

I attend University in Amsterdam and I am currently in my second year of study. I study History and intend on specialising in medieval europe (cliché I know). I come from a high-income family and haven't really faced financial issues in my life. So I felt safe studying history although I am aware that my job prospects are slim. I can always become a chill high school history teacher.

During my first year of study I met my now girlfriend Kamillah Knight. She is from the UK and is studying Law in Amsterdam. Her father is from the UK and her mother is from South Africa. When they gave birth to Kamillah they chose to keep the Surname of her father because it's rather chivalrous and chose to give her an even more chivalrous name. Both her parents come from poor backrounds and so she has faced a lot of tough financial issues in her life. She has had a half-time job since she was 15 to support herself in having a decent lifestyle and even helping out her family inbetween. No wonder she chose to study law.

She is a genius. I'm very proud of her and although many men would like to be the provider in the family I am actually glad that she is going to be the one to provide. I would rather spend my time reading books and spending time with my kids.
