"Colonel, I trust there's a good reason you won't be returning on schedule?"

"Carter's missing, General Hammond. There's no sign of a struggle, but also no sign of her."

"Do you need backup for the search?"

"... Not yet sir. We haven't had a chance to really begin the search yet."

"Very well. I expect regular updates and I'll have a team on standby if you need them."

Colonel Jack O'Neill deactivated the MALP, and headed back to camp where Daniel Jackson and Teal'c waited for him.

"Let's get searching."

"Is General Hammond going to send anyone to help us?" Daniel asked.

"Not yet. He will if we need him to."

"Did you inform General Hammond of all the facts of Major Carter's disappearance, O'Neill?" Teal'c asked.

Jack looked at the pile on the ground and at the footprints leading to the wood. "I wasn't quite sure how to tell him that in the middle of her watch last night, Carter decided to set down her gun, get undressed and walk into the woods wearing nothing but her socks and boots."
