I was 17 when my father died, and because I mom past when I was just an infant, the only person left in my life was my Stepmom.

She and my father married five years prior and though I really tried to like her, it just never really worked out.

So when dad died, I was alone with her, and a giant pool of money that he had earned as a ceo of a company that I didn’t understand.

Amazingly, and to surprise both of us, dad didn’t leave the money to her, but to me. So she was left with less than 50000$ a year from his remaining accounts, while his whole net worth would fall to me on my 18th birthday.

She had always hated me, but now there was money involved so I started to become a little weary of her actions.

Though I didn’t really trust her, I didn’t suspect anything when she called to the kitchen one afternoon.
