Selective Breeding

The smell of smoke wakes you. You sit up grogily, running a hand across the bed until you find the window. You curse as you discover it's open. You close it with a snap and stand up. Your room is dark and small but it is comfortable and suits your needs. You walk over to the cubboard and begin pulling out clothes.

It is 2514.

Three hundred years ago the world was at war. The details have become lost in time, but what is known is that the war that followed wiped out approximately 95% of humanity. The weapon used were the Cain Projectiles; weapons configured to only kill humans.

One hundred years ago the survivors gatheredand and the Authority was set up, a government with one purpose; rebuild humanity. In order to rebuild mankind the survivors were geneticaly modified, configuring the survivors to five colours:

Blue

Gold

Red

Black

Green

Every human has been modified so that their hair is their colour. Strange as it seems, you are used to your blue hair, and it serves another purpose; since same-colour relationships are forbidden it allows the expansion and divergence of the gene-pool.

Your name is John Lancaster, designated 17-123. You are 22, tall, strong and handsome with short, shaggy blue hair and sapphire eyes.

As you pull your clothes on your phone rings.
