Scarlet Law: CHYOA Edition

(All characters are depicted as being at least 18 years old and aged up to 18 years old from their canonical stories)

In your universe, in your country or beyond, female slavery has been a part of life since ancient times ever since the Scarlet Conflict. What was the Scarlet Conflict, no one really remembers just that it involved the Goddess the Scarlet Lady, her Master with no name, and his harem of beautiful goddesses and warriors fighting and containing the demoness the Blue Harlot. Once the Blue Harlot was contained, the Scarlet Lady, ruler of the spiritual world according to the priestesses proclaimed the Scarlet Law.

The Scarlet Law declared that any female could be bought by another as their property that they can do anything with. Their life before they are bought is legally over unless permitted by their owner. There are some exceptions to the Scarlet Law, 1) blood relatives cannot be bought normally 2) mothers taking care of underage children cannot be separated from them 3) married or formerly married females cannot be purchased if they have had children until the kids have come of age 4) purchased females can be out bought by another if a higher offer is made within a certain period of time.

There are many rules involved in purchasing females, in particular how much they cost. No-name females of no particular note could sell for fairly cheap. Any skills or talents they have earned or their parents have shown will only increase their value. Heiresses of upper class or particularly successful families would have sale prices that would bankrupt most people of lower classes who wouldn’t normally be allowed to purchase them (one way or another). Most citizens might only be able to afford one or two slaves through their life time.

There are nearly unlimited things that can be done to slaves, they can be used, abused (within limits) and resold. There are many businesses that tailor to masters deciding to pamper or alter their slaves. Stores displaying the latest fashions or accessories are fairly common. Stadiums for ponygirl or puppygirl races are a big draw in the major cities (with smaller divisions in the countryside).

There have been rumblings of attempting to end this practice of female slavery but legends and stories are abound about the consequences of violating the Scarlet Law. It is said that any female refusing the collar and refusing the Scarlet Law will be cursed and disaster will strike the world. What kind of curse and what kind of disaster is not known, supposedly lost to time, though rumors have circulated that the upper hierarchy of the priestesshood know and have hidden the truth.

Your world is one of many fictional worlds where the only difference between the ‘prime’ world and yours is that the Scarlet Law has been implemented and propagated throughout the country/world. Who are you? Where do you live?
