Rocketmen: Axis of Evil

First off, although this could also be categorized in the Fan Fiction section of CHYOA but I decided to place it here to make it easier to find for enthusiasts of the genre. It's a fun bit of scifi with an obvious Flash Gordon 50's retro feel to it. It’s based on a game from the early ’00s.

-The Right Man for the Job

Zipping through the blackness of space, the Icarus Jane wizzes through the heavens while being followed by a much larger ship. "You are under arrest," a female voice blurts throught the comm, "for smuggling arms to Earth rebels." Inside the cockpit of the Icarus Jane sits Nick Sion, Rocketman of Earth and captain of the Icarus Jane. He and his longtime friend, Zach Rathman, copilot and weapons engineer for the Icarus Jane, sit on the edge of their seats as they fled their pursuers. "On three!" Zach said to Nick, "make a hard left!" while pointing to his left. "One..." he started counting as Nick slammed the controls to the right, nearly taking Zach out of his seat. The Icarus Jane banked and quickly veered to the right with their would be arrestors hot on their tail, an beam of energy shot out from the nose of the larger ship and it caught the Icarus Jane in its path, the Icarus Jane began to slow, before being pulled closer to their pursuers.

Later...

Nick and Zach sat on the lower bunk of a very spartan room, a prison cell on a Venusian space station, staring blankly off to one side of the room, they listened to the monotone voice of the correctional computer lecture them of their crime, "...when we work together, we all win." The machine droned on, "These Venusians take all the fun out of prison," Nick sighed.

"No breakouts, no fights!"

"Conflict and fighting never solve anything," the computer continued its lecture, before being interrupted by Nick hoping that someone was monitoring the conversation within the cell.

"Can't you see, the only way to beat these guys IS hostility!" he exclaimed to the machine while shaking his fist at it, "if you don't fight back the Legion of Terra will take over Venus the same way it took over Earth."

The whole while Zach continued to stare blankly at the wall, despite Nick's futile attempt to talk sense into the computer.

Suddenly the space station shook as something exploded against it's hull. "Martians!" Zach shouted as the two of them looked out a tiny window, to see several Martian rocketships attacking and board the station. "Zach?" Nick stated with a tonal indication an inquiry, "you don't suppose those green gorillas are still mad at me for the...?"

"Yup!" Zach exclaimed, while Nick continued, "and those...?"

"Uh-huh" Zach replied, again cutting Nick off.

"Shit," Nick said, "we gotta get outta here!"

"We've already been over that one genius," Zach said nonchalantly while relaxing against the wall, doubting their escape potential when all of the sudden the door to their cell is blasted inward, causing the two human rebels to cough. Now open, the door, allows the sounds of lasers blasts and the occasional scream into the room.

Unsure of exactly what is going on at first, the pair looks to the door only to see a Alecto Mink, a gorgeous Venusian woman, standing at the hole where the door used to be, she was wearing a skin tight suit of yellow vinyl, the typical uniform for Venusian Space Forces, she had a laser pistol in each hand and had another holstered on her belt.

"Hello," Nick said in his most suave voice as he stepped towards the attractive blue-skinned woman.

"I saw her first," Zach replied to Nick's comment.

"Nick Sion, Rocketman of Earth?" Alecto said, stepping forward rather quickly causing her small but beautiful breasts to bounce in her uniform, her statement more of a question, only to have Nick speedily respond, "at your service!" while extending his hand for a formal handsake.

"You've got a war to fight" she said while placing one of the laser pistols in his hand.

"Excuse me?" replied Nick with a look of confusion on his face, as Venusians typically shun war and .

"Earth and Mars have joined forces!" Alecto exclaimed, tossing the other laser pistol in her hand to Zach, "the solar system is doomed unless we act," she continued. Alec threw her hands up into the air, causing her nice breasts to bounce again, "this thing does not come easy to my people, but the time has come to fight back and you're the right man for the job!"

"Finally," Nick shouted, "someone in charge who gets it!"

"Danger!" the monotone computer proclaimed in a loud voice, "Psycological convict has entered room... Danger! Danger!"

Obviously annoyed, Alecto grabbed her third pistol from it's holster and started firing laser blasts at the corrections computer while it keept up its 'danger' routine, her aim was less than stellar as Nick had to fire only one shot to put the computer down. Keen on the situation, Zach shrugged and commented, "I'm glad one of you did that."

"I AM NOT CRAZY!" Alecto declared.

Nick and Zach somewhat jokingly responded, "sure, uh huh, if you say so."

"Not crazy, not crazy," the black haired blue-skinned Mink kept repeating to herself as she stepped out of the room firing her laser down the hall.

"Oh man, that's my kind of girl," Nick stated, following her out of the room, quickly followed by Zach.

"I said, I saw her first."
