Rival

The ball floats through the air to be met with the point of my sleek boots, bringing it down to the heavily trodden ground. Quickly I start to accelerate down the field, past one, then a shimmy beyond another.

In no time its just me and the goalkeeper and the world freezes. I look up, my shimmering blue eyes piercing his dull green ones. Pure determination plastered on my face as i pull my right leg back and pull the trigger. The connection? Perfect. A calm swipe of the ball with the inside of my size 5 feet and the ball is slotted past the keeper as he dives to save.

Thats it! Goal! I've done it, off the bench with a hattrick. Hah. Fuck you coach benching me for 'behviour issues'. The cup is mine, top goalscorer, best player, simply put I am the star.

The only question now is how to celebrate?
