Resident Evil: Aftermath

After the events of Zero and Resident Evil 1 the young medic who had been a rookie for those missions came out wanting free of it.

In sheer desperation she approached Iron's and demanded she be allowed to leave and for him to give a recommendation and references.

Her tool , she had collected a floppy disk that incriminated him with his ties to Umbrella.

Of course, she hoped he would listen.

Despite her hesitation, he listened and seemed much happier that one of the STARS lot was throwing in the towel. He provided a glowing recommendation which allowed her to sign up and join The United States Medic Corp and leave all of this horor and pain far behind.

After the aberration of Umbrella, few things made her to react in terror. Instead she was considered so Iron-willed that many saw her as cold and uncaring when she was not practicing her bedside manner.

Despit this, she became extraordinary medic in the field and saved many a life.

It was during time in Middle East she heard of what had happened. Raccoon City was nuked.

All her family, all her friends gone. Of course, she wept, she wept long and hard.

That is only time she looked back and wondered if she had made the right choice.

Nonetheless, there was more to follow as the State Representatives and Senators were in utter outrage about the actions committed by Government. They claimed it was declaration of war and threatened to secede.

One Year, one year and the world changes so drastically. Of course she already knew things would change after the destruction of Raccoon City. The USA was always on the precipice to begin with. Still not even she could predict just how vastly the global upheaval would affect the world.

Not only did Umbrella Pharmaceuticals crash it fucking burned taking half the USA with damage it left. The stock market toppled violently leading to anger against the current USA Adminstration. With anger at a massive boiling point, those who whispered about secession were spoke of more loudly. Umbrella Pharmceuticals was carved up the Free Market leading various Regimes and Tyrants wanting these weapons.

Not a few months later and the USA imploded, bang! The pressure having built to boiling point with accusations of overreach and crimes against the people.

This all happened while Rebecca was assigned to Middle East as a medic.

Finding out you have no job in a warzone is akin to discovering Santa Clause is not real.

Traumatic.

Out of what the Nation-States could cobble together came a group organized by China, Russia and the EU are known as Allied Regiment Against Bio-Terror (ARABT). And guess who was the first lot they called, those poor sods who had been there at the beginning, Bravo Team. Barry had reticent but in the end, he agreed to offer his skills.

Rebecca whom he kept in semi-contact with was reached out to by him.

The likes of Jill, Chris, Claire and even Leon were around, but during everything, Rebecca did not exactly have time to make friends.

Not to mention none of them appreciated she had made deal with Irons.

They did not get it, she had been a fucking rookie just out of the academy.

It was survival or relive those terrible nightmares.

And in the Middle East, before things blew up, she had done well.

Helped so many.

That what she told herself constantly, even nowadays.
