Reorienting

Chapter 1 by LesbianLily LesbianLily

In 2038 scientists discovered that all humans are bisexual, and anyone who claims to be straight or gay has an internal hatred of the gender they say they're not attracted to. So the government sent up Reorienting Centers, and when a person turns 18 they have to take a test on sexual orientation, if they are a 0, 1, 5, or 6 on the Kinsey scale, then they are sent to a center.

This is Corio City, the capital and largest city. The main center is located right here.

Twin sisters Mary and Alexa sat nervously outside the testing center, awaiting their results.

"What do you think you got?" asked Mary.

"Are you kidding?" asked Alexa. "We took a class on this. Obviously we passed."

"I know, I know," said Mary. "I was just making conversation."

"Right then," said Alexa. "So are you excited for college?" she asked. She was assuming there'd be college.

"I guess," said Mary, biting her nails. "I can't think about that right now."

"It's going to be fine," said Alexa. "Another few minutes and it'll all be over."

"Yeah," said Mary.

She looked down at the ground as a woman passed by them in the hallway.

"I just don't get why they do this to us," said Mary. "Why do I have to like girls? I'm only going to marry one person anyway. What's the difference?"

"Well it is kinda sexist," said Alexa. "Only liking one gender. But it's lot like you can control it."

Mary glanced to her right. It was just some random guy.

"Shouldn't they be out by now?" asked Mary.

Her question was answered a few seconds later when a man in a suit came out.

"Mary and Alexa Filbert," he said. "Your results."

He handed them each a folded slip of paper, with the capital seal on the front. Mary's arm shook as she opened hers.

"There's no way we failed!" said Alexa.

Mary stared in disbelief. Her worst nightmare was coming true.

"Can we take it again?" asked Alexa. "Tell me we can take it again."

The guard shook his head.

"But I took a class!" said Alexa.

"If I were you I'd keep that to myself," said the guard.

"Please, can we take it again?"

"No," he said.

"But, could you give us different results? Like... I could give you $1000."

"Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to leave immediately," said the security guard.

He handcuffed Mary and Alexa, pulling them along to the exit. Once they were at their car he unlocked them.

"8:00," said the guard. "You better be there, or somebody's gonna get hurt."

With that he turned and walked back into the building.

"What have we gotten ourselves into?" asked Alexa.

She slammed the car door, and started to drive. A few minutes later they pulled up in front of their apartment building.

"What do you think?" asked Alexa. "Should we get these trackers off and try to make a run for it?"

Do they make a run for it?
