Pokemon Possession

Today I woke up bright and early, excited beyond belief to finally begin my pokemon adventure after watching and reading about them for my whole life. I've loved watching the most elite pokemon trainers battle it out with the friends they made and become the best of the best. I put on the simple jeans, shirt, and hoodie that I prepared for today, put on my shoes and ran out of the house in a flash.

I run towards the nearby Professor Saffronia's lab. Professor Saffronia is our neighbor who's been around since I was a kid, he has a very slim build with spiky brown hair that juts out at all directions no matter how much he tries to straighten it out with near constant bags under his eyes due to always working on something or sitting at his desk looking over some new research. I kind of work as his unofficial lab assistant, its more so me just fetching him whatever he needs around the lab or sometimes just his coffee, but he's always really nice towards me and teaches me tons of interesting little details about his research that I never would have learnt about in a book or online. As I was reminiscing while running Professor's lab as fast I can, I almost crash into him while he's moving around some fragile looking boxes, wearing his usual outfit of a black graphic tee with some band I don't know, green shorts, a pair of socks and sandals, and his familiar lab-coat.

"Whoa there! I know that today's the big day but the pokemon aren't going anywhere, plus you almost would have broken a little something special I have for you."

Confusion was plastered on my face as I asked what he had, curious to learn what this "special something" could possibly be.

He smirked at me and pulled out a small looking wrist watch with a tiny screen on it with two arrow buttons, one facing left the other right. It looked just like the Poketech's that a lot of trainers, skilled or not, have

"This right here, is an brand new invention that I created myself in my spare time that I just finished last night. I know that it looks just like any other Poketech but this one's special, you see-"

Suddenly a loud ringing noise fills the room, the obnoxious noise comes from the Professor's coat pocket. He pulls it out and looks at who's calling, with a grimace he answers the phone.

"What's up?.... What!? Today!? N-no no its not an issue at all.... uh-huh.... alright, see you soon."

After he hanged up he breathed a heavy sigh, I asked him what was bothering him and who that was.

"Oh nothing you have to worry about just an annual check up thing from the Leauge, they gotta make sure i'm not making a super weapon and all that jazz but their such a pain. Sorry but I don't think I can give you your pokemon today with all of this happening." The disappointment must have been obvious on my face with how fast he responded. "But! I can give this special Poketech just for you, I can't tell you the in's and out's so i'll just say that it will make you closer to whoever you call with it."

With that he gently but also quickly escorted me out of the lab and I was left with many questions and no Pokemon. He said that i'd "get closer" with whoever I called whatever that meant, but I guess that only leaves me trying it out and seeing what he meant.

I attached the device to my wrist and called the first name that came to mind.
