Chapter one Nabe

The sun was setting, a cloaked figure walked the desolate streets of E-rantel. The night breeds ill intent; breadth of any life, except for the lingering drunkard or downtrodden guard **** to work the graveyard shift. The simple knowledge not to linger, lost on the cloaked figure as she hurried her pace. Timid steps, oscillate between enraged steps; her movement opaque to even the village idiot that she rather be elsewhere then here. The few commoners still lingering on the streets, didn’t bat an eye at her; obviously not wanting to get involved with the drama of the previous day. Despite the person having wandered about the city, like a chicken robbed of its head locals would attest to; the rumors surrounding her had ballooned into numerous tales of how she was a whore, a leech, an incompetent bitch who stole valor; each softly spoken slight, overheard by her was a dagger to her pride.

Nabe rushed about the streets, trying to find shelter for the night. Not a day before she was the partner of the up and coming adventurer Momon. Though any chance of continuing such ruse was decimated by her own lack of prudence. Unbeknownst to her, Ainz had picked her for the fact that she was both strong and the most human-like of the Pliedas. All of this meant nothing when she accidentally killed N’firea Bareare in her battle with khajiit; her Chain Dragon Lightning making dust of him as well as N’firea. Although Naberal was told of the importance of N’firea, something was lost in translation there; for the dust stain of what was left of N’firea was clear to Ainz that Narberl’s disdain for humans and his unfamiliarity with stressing the subtleties of his objectives had led to this failure of the mission. Although Ainz could easily erase the mistakes that Nabe made; easy as breathing. Though that wouldn’t solve the problem that her disdain had caused.

Ainz had revived N’firea, restored his mind, and returned him to Lizzie Bareare; gaining the recognition of defeating the Society of Zurrernorn when an investigation en’**** was arranged by proper authorities.

Within the time between retiring to the Golden Pavilion and returning to Nazarick; gave time to ponder. Ponder on how to correct such behavior; now disdain for humans was to be expected, once the cultural shock of the reality that this was no longer a game had passed. Ainz, hoping for a red herring, had asked for her opinion of humans, only after N’firea’s ****, did he realize how low the opinion she held. Now Ainz didn’t really have any noble motives about protecting humans; rather his plan on spreading his name was to attract any players to him, maybe his friends he might find. A plan hindered by such recklessness.

It was within that time that the Overlord came up with a plan to humble her. If Narberal Gamma had such a low opinion of humanity, to the point that she can’t fathom her own disdain hindering her master’s plan. Then to live the life of a lowly human; a hail merry, to be certain, but her tactlessness for any future mission would only hinder him more if not corrected now. Taking aside Naberal, her replacement Yuri Alpha, Albedo the Guardian Overseer, and Demiurge. Ainz cleared his throat, or the space where his neck was, and stated to the group his intention to punish Narberal for his failures. His original plan to send Narberal out in E-rantel quickly got misconstrued by Demiurge and Albedo as recon; experiment and research for some grander scheme. Quickly spiraling into a deep infiltration mission though experiencing the full experience of a peasant of the Kingdom; a humiliation for a servant of the forty-one. Regardless, Narberal accepted her punishment; ever loyal to her Overlord. Ainz, looking through his deep repertoire of spells, landed on Maxamise Magic Greater Curse of Enfeeblement, a spell that effectively brought Narberal Gamma to level five; effectively strong enough to handle a normal peasant, but not overpower to where she can overcome every problem with ****.

So here she was, Nabe the disgraced Adventurer, stumbling about the place for a place to shelter herself. The cold stone bricks that made up the road, her only indicator that she was in the inner part of the city. Her inability to understand language only made the signs obsolete to her. With what warnings she did receive from her colleagues and the Overlord, it was best to have a base of operations, even if temporary. The few viable coins that Ainz spared, chinked about her coin purse. As the sun set Nabe, her new identity for the foreseeable future, slipped into the alleyways of the streets. Having exhausted most of the main street shelter options; given the rumors having sullied what little reputation she had. She looked for any house she might sneak herself in to rest and plan.

Though her steps lessen as more steps added to the background. Hesitantly she looked over her shoulder, confident that she was being followed. Suddenly a closed fist came out in front of her, finding purchase to her throat, winding her. The steps grew louder, as a few men in ratty clothes surrounded her; it was no contest, the men quickly overpowered her and bound her up, throwing her in a bag. It was off to the races as these ruffians dispersed as to not attract attention, with Nabe going unable to prevent them from taking her with them. To only where they knew.
