New York City Old Prison, or NYCOP, is one of the oldest prisons in this alternate version of the U.S. and definitely the oldest in New York, it used to hold only political criminals but ever since the 1800s it has been expanded to allow every type of prisoner from unarmed robbery to the vilest terrorists. With a maximum capacity of 1,450 unisex inmates (although they try to keep the men and women separate) across 10 cell blocks with 760 guards and 790 other workers including the Warden to keep watch over them, it is perhaps the largest in the country.

And after the old Warden's long overdue passing the new Warden, a chick, has been appointed to governer these criminals. Now the prison is at its most malleable and most dangerous. One wrong move can mean even more certain .

So how did our protagonist get in here? Well, a lot of possible ways. They could be a career criminal who got too confident and caught, a lowly armed thief who got unlucky, one of the prison staff or guards trying to keep order, an innocent framed, the newly appointed Warden, a criminal betrayed, an investigator going deep to uncover a secret government plot, there are many ways. But how did this one get in?
