Our fantasies are often about those around us. It doesn't take much to get a mind to wander.

John Doe was deeply involved in looking for the right story. Nothing so far had hit home. There either wasn't enough passion, or there wasn't enough suspense. There wasn't enough novelty, or there wasn't enough familiarity. It seemed like the right stimulation could only come from dreaming up an encounter - but the concentration involved made it unsatisfying.

What John needed was to take a risk - to go in search of a partner who could help create the perfect experience. Perhaps John would even find the chance right in the neighborhood.
