Moving On or Vengeance

Facing down the Demon

Chapter 1 by Ilovebj Ilovebj

Your head is finally clearing and you're finally ready to move on.

Betty Jean.

Name makes you want to puke. You loved her, hell, you still do. She said she loved you. And this is what she does?

Early that spring, a few days after your 23th birthday, you met and hit it off. Within days this 19 year-old was saying she loved you and within a month you felt it back. Another few weeks and you asked her out. She said yes, you were happy.

She had a muscular condition since birth, was unable to walk, and so was confined to a electric wheelchair. She also had to live in a group home so she could get help she needed. You hadn't cared. You were willing to do what it took. Some might even been fun, helping her shower, helping her dress....

Starting that July things suddenly changed. You broke up and she saw someone else for about a week. Then when he dumped her she said she still loved you. You were hesitant, not sure if you could trust her (you know now of course), but you loved her and believed her. Then she didn't invite you to her birthday, and you found out she was seeing someone else. When he dumps her she's back to you again.

By this time she must have had some kind of spell, because you welcomed her right back. When she dumped you again in September she did something you were in no way prepared for: she claimed you assaulted her and filed a restraining order. Your lawyer was of little use because he feared sympathy because of her being wheelchair bound.

It was late October now and your head wad finally clearing. You talked to Renae Carter the other day. She was there when you supposedly assaulted Betty. She had told you she would testify, and tell the truth, despite Betty being her best friend.

Now you really need someone to finish getting you mind, heart and dick (figuratively) off Betty.

Renae is seeing someone, but you know that relations unstable, plus she flirts with other people a lot, including your friend James. You think she is incredibly hot, especially when she's out running in her black running shorts and orange t-shirt. You don't know how good a girlfriend she'd make, though. Still, just flirting with her might be enough for now.

There's the new girl in town: Erin Zukov. Good looking, but you know James has had an eye on her for a while. No foul testing the waters, is there?

Then again maybe you could just call your old friend Sarah McDonald, as soon as she's out of school. You haven't called her since Labor day and wonder how she's doing in school this year.

Your decision John?
