Midnight Romance

Two co-workers become more than friends

Chapter 1 by drust drust

A few months back I got hired on to do some overnight remodel work at a big box retail store and at the time I would never have guessed how much it would change my life. I wasn't really sure what to expect so I felt a bit nervous as I headed inside. I quickly found the rest of the remodel team that I was going to be working with grouped up in the back all looking nervous as well. There was a pretty even split of men and women in the group and a few of them already were talking and getting to know one another.

It didn't take long for the managers to get back and get us all caught up on what we were going to be doing. It seemed pretty crazy at the time to think that we would be moving 80 feet of steel shelving filled with all kinds of soda. As we all got to work unloading the shelves we all started talking and getting to know one another. With some of them I could tell straight away that there was no way we would ever be friends, but most of them turned out to be really nice people.

One in particular caught my eye as soon as I saw her. She had a beautiful smile perfectly framed by the glasses resting on her face. Even though I have a girlfriend of my own I couldn't help but check her out a little. No harm in looking after all right? Rachel, the name on her badge, had long brown hair with pink tips on the last few inches, a sexy ass, and had all the right curves for a girl her height.

As we worked we got to know eachother a little better, and I immediately fell in love with the smile on her face. It was so genuine and cute. Though I hate to admit it I was saddened a little when I saw the wedding ring on her finger. Turns out she had been with her husband for the last 6 years or so, and had two kids though one was from a previous marriage. This was her first job in a few years as she had been a stay at home mom for awhile. I could tell right away how smart and hard working she was, and that she was a proud mom.

The work was somewhat hard, but the constant movement made the day go by faster. Before I knew it it was time to go home. The next few weeks went by pretty quickly as Rachel, myself, and a few of our other co-workers got to know eachother. We would often spend lunches and breaks together just talking and eating. Just those few short weeks had made the store totally unrecognizable from what it had once been.

It didn't take long for rumor's about the two of us being a couple to spread. Even though we were just friends we did spend a lot of time together and she had become my work-wife and I her work-husband. We were pretty close in age as well, I was 26 and she was 28. The best part about hanging out with her was how easy it was to talk about anything at all. No matter what the subject it was never awkward or weird and I was quickly falling for her and that smile that could melt my heart.
