Lost in the Kingdom

Marta enjoyed her holidays in Asia. She has travelled different countries for the last 4 weeks. Now she stood at the airport waiting for the boarding for her plane back to the UK.

After a while the boarding process started and a little bit later the plane was up in the sky. In a few days, Marta was about to go to work again. She owns a shop in southern London. After a small dinner, she tried to get some sleep.

About three hours after departing, the captain made another announcement. "Ladies and Gentlemen, we have some issues with this plane and have to land on the nearest airport. It will be just a safety check, and we hope that we can solve this fast, so we will be back in the air soon. For this we are heading to Jahala Airport."

Marta gulped as she heard the name Jahala Airport. Jahala was the capital of the Kingdom of Jahala. There have been rumors that the Kingdom legalized slavery again. But there are no official reports. There are nearly no connections to the rest of the world, and the internet connections are well filtered.

As the plane was going to land, Marta looked out of the window. She saw some desserts but also some oases. In the near distance, she was able to see a modern city. That has to be Jahala. After touch down, a few mechanics walked through and around the plane. Meanwhile, it was getting hotter inside the plane as the captain had to turn off the cooling system. Nearly an hour past as the captain made another announcement. "Ladies and Gentlemen, unfortunately we cannot start again today. Because of that, you all have to leave the plane. Please get your baggage at the claim and move to the airline's desk. There you will get further information. Thanks for your understanding."

Marta rolled her eyes and picked up her hand luggage. When she stepped out of the plane, the heat felt like an oven. She walked down the gangway and moved to the airport building. Waiting another 30 minutes, she was able to get her luggage and went to the main hall to find the information desk. From the distance, she was able to see that there was already a long row of people.
