Last Man on Earth

John woke up feeling very dizzy. He opened his eyes slowly and looked around his room very carefully. Nothing seemed to be out of place, yet his gut instinct told him something was wrong.

Maybe it was the lack of snoring from his college roommate, Pete. Normally, Pete's snoring would wake John up a few times a night. But there was no snoring. John took a sneak peek at Pete's bed. He wasn't there.

John shrugged his shoulders. Maybe Pete slept somewhere else last night. But that wasn't right. He remembered Pete returning to the dorm room. Maybe Pete had to get up early. Yeah, that was it.

Still not knowing anything was wrong, John took a shower, dressed and went to breakfast. It was at the campus cafeteria that he noticed something was wrong.
