Lukas waved at his brother as he walked into school before he began heading towards his high school.

The morning was unusually cool for January and Lukas had left his jacket at home. The cold air made him wish he had it on, but he still kept up his brisk pace to his destination.

He saw the street come into view and he quickly checked his phone to see if he had time.

"Crap," he whispered.

His phone said 8:17 am. School started in 3 minutes, and he was still on the opposite side of the street. The high school was a five-minute walk away, so he only had two minutes to run.

Lukas bolted for the school, hoping to not be late for class. He hated being late.

Sadly he was going to be late regardless, and he slowed down to a walk as he entered the gates. At least he was ‘at school,.

He checked his phone again and saw he had about a minute left. He walked faster, his backpack bouncing on his shoulders, and his feet thumping loudly against the ground.

"Lukas!" A voice yelled out from behind him.

He spun around and saw his friend, a blonde-haired, brown-eyed, skinny, guy walking towards him.

"Hey, max," Lukas said as the other boy approached him.

“Damn you weren’t kidding.” Max said as he looked over Lukas.

Lukas wasn’t fat he was definitely overweight but nothing now however in the past 3 months he had cut down in weight and increased his muscle mass thanks to training with his uncle. He was no where near the same person he had been 3 months ago.

"Yeah, I don't think I will ever get used to it."

"Dude, what are you complaining about. You’re even taller!” Max exclaimed his compared their heights with his hand.

Lukas chuckled, "You're right, that part is nice."

Max and Lukas began walking to their classes. “I’m telling you man. This year is your year.”
