To Think, That Five Short Years Ago, He Was An Ordinary College Student, and Now He Was Standing In The Justice Leagues Watchtower, a Recent Addition. John Had To Keep himself from Wetting himself in Excitement. He Had Previously been the Protege of Guy Gardner, and Was One of the Few Non-Green Lantern Lanterns in the League. His Ring was Born from the Power Of Hope Itself. But Even Without The Ring, He Was Powered. Super Strength, Super Endurance, Skimming, Heat Vision, X-Ray Vision, and Infrared Vision Were All His Powers.

John was Known by His Hero Name of Sparrow, He'd Formed Friendships With Several Young Heroes, Namely Batgirl, Wonder Girl, Zatanna Zatara, Spoiler, Thirteen, Red Robin, Nightwing, Superboy, Supergirl, Blue Beatle, Robin, Raven, Power Girl, Artemis, Speedy, Starfire, Geo-, Kid Flash and Beast Boy. He Had A Number of Crushes on Batgirl, Zatanna, Supergirl, and A Few Senior Justice League Members. But These Were Kept to Himself for The Most Part. Either Way, John Was Busy Reading A Brief Batman Had Prepared For Him.

Batman Had Instructed Him To Select A Team to Join, The Infiltration, Sabotage, and Subterfuge Squad of Gamma. The Battle Support Squad of Beta. And Of Course The Premier Squad of Alpha. Batgirl, Superboy, Raven, Speedy, and Geo- Formed Gamma, Whereas Wonder Girl, Kid Flash, Red Robin, Spoiler and Starfire Formed Beta. But Alpha was Comprised of Thirteen, Nightwing, Supergirl, Blue Beatle, and Artemis. While John and Doubtless many others would have liked to have been Able to Choose Alpha Squad, John was Certain That The Personal Pick of the Squads Was A Test of Batman's. So Naturally He Selected Gamma Squad.

The Other Legauers Were Hard To Get A Complete Reading on, Batman In Particular, But That Went Without Saying. John's Power Ring Was Difficult to Work With, Honestly, He Felt A Ring of Green or Red would've been Better Suited for him. His Will was Unflinching, and His Ability To Control His Rage gave him sufficient Confidence that he wouldn't succumb to the Rings Blood lust. But He Was Ready For His Briefing with Gamma............
