I wish...

We have all dreamt of it... Getting that one wish. And what we would do with that wish.. Some people go for the altruistic wishes like world peace, or the cure to all diseases. But these people are in the minority.

You wake up one morning and roll out of bed. You often think about your life in the morning; what have I done with it? What is the point? Am I always going to be alone? You look at your clock and sigh... It's 5am. You don't have to be in to your job for another two and a half hours. You stumble into the kitchen of your crappy apartment and look through the mail you brought in the night before. You sigh and toss the bills aside and focus on a small package that was sent to you by a former colleague.

You open the box and pull out a small wrapped object. A note is underneath it and you pick it up in your other hand and read it aloud, "Jon, this is a branch off of one of the Lam Tsuen Wishing trees that are nearby me here in China. Locals say that they can help cure illnesses. Anyways, how is the teaching job going? Yours, Claire"

"Illness huh? What a load of bullshit... I don't want to wish for cures! Hell! If I had to pick anything to wish for, I'd wish...."
