How the other half live

You find yourself involved in the drama of a rich family

Chapter 1 by jeby13 jeby13

You wake up and roll over to your phone, holding your thumb down to unlock it. As you do every morning you open up your emails and check your inbox, junk folder, anything you can think of hoping today is the day you hear back from one of your job applications. As has been the case for the last 6 months now since you graduated, riddled with student debt you’ve received nothing. You felt like a king whilst at university, popular, good looking, getting on with everyone. However since graduation that feeling has subsided and the situation is starting to feel , your debt hanging over your head and barely even affording your rent. Making minimum wage stacking shelves in your local supermarket.

You sigh as you roll out of bed and begin your morning routine ready for another arduous day of work. As is always your routine on your commute you pass the newsagents with the notice board in the window hoping against all odds that a dream job has been posted there, much to your expectation you remain disappointed. However one advert does jump out to you.

“Looking for a friendly and attractive man between the ages of 20-25 to accompany me to a family gathering so as to avoid further interrogation from nosy relatives. Willing to pay negotiable upon meeting”. You take note of the phone number and decide there's no harm in contacting the mysterious person and potentially making a little extra easy money.

You decide to send a quick text to the number offering your interest and a brief description of yourself hoping to impress the mystery individual. Not thinking much more of it you continue your journey to work.

As you clock in you hear a notification on your phone. It’s a reply from the advert you responded to.

“Hi, John thanks for the interest. Would you like to go and grab a drink this evening and see how we get on before we make any firm plans. I’ll book a table for 7 at Aqua in the Shard, ask for Claire x”

Do you meet Claire?
