Her Power

Fuuuuuuuccccccckkkkk, she screamed. Sitting in her car after work, Kathryn had had it. Her boss was a total dick, and was constantly on her ass, about a looming deadline. She enjoyed her work as an attorney, she wanted to make partner, badly, but, the boss, Craig seemed to have other plans. She could not for the life of her, figure out, why he seemed to have complete and utter disdain for her. Maybe I remind him of his ex wife, she thought. It didn’t matter. She had had a shit day and she was ready to get out of her shoes. First, she thought, I just need to get out of this fucking parking lot. Kathryn, was tall, dark hair with striking green eyes. She looked in the rear view mirror, and noticed her face was red from her screaming only to herself. It was late, as it usually is when she leaves the office. But even though it was dark, it was early summer in Chicago, and as she rolled her window down to feel the warm breeze for a moment, she relaxed a bit. “Breathe” she told herself. Breathing always helped, and as she let out a deep breath, she could feel her breasts relax. She sat there for a bit, listening to her body breathe, feeling her chest rise and fall. I feel better she said to herself. Relaxed, composed. She knew that deep inside, she didn’t need to feel this way. She was killing herself each day, but for what? To drive herself into an early grave? To doubt herself or her abilities? No, that wouldn’t do. She needed a release from the stress of her day. What to do, she thought?
