A Mysterious Package with Infinite Potential

You nearly trip over a package on your way out. After grumbling at how unfair life is for expecting you to watch where you're walking so early in the morning, you notice that it is addressed to you.

'Strange,' you think to yourself 'I swear I checked the mail yesterday.'

Deciding to open the package, you grab a pair of scissors to help. When it is open, you see that there is a note and something that looks like a gun you'd see in an old sci-fi movie.

You read the note:

To you who have received my gift,

Explaining all of what my gift to you can do would be boring for both of us, to spare you that I shall simply let you know that it is a device to control people. The dial on the left side changes the type of control over the person, while the one on the right controls the level of control. If you're wondering why you were chosen, then it is simply random chance. Now, as for the reason for my gift. I simply wish to be entertained. While I know what I've done with my copy of the gun, I would like to know what others will do. For now though, there are only two guns in existence.

And then you inspect the gun:

It is a retro, sci-fi style gun. There are three small cones running down the guns barrel before it expands outward at the muzzle. The chamber is large, bulbous and has no visible way of opening, clearly it isn't a gun that uses bullets. There is also a dial on each side of the chamber. A window next to the left one reads "Goth", you rotate the dial and it changes to "Bimbo", and on the right and "Willing", rotating the dial changes it to "Unaware". The handle and trigger are rather normal, but strangely the butt has a USB Type-C port.

You aren't sure how to feel about what you're seeing. It has to be a joke, right? But would there be harm in trying it? The gun is so obviously not a real gun that you doubt anyone would believe it was real, so as long as you don't make pointing it at someone too obvious you should be fine. Coming to this conclusion, you finish grab the gun to bring along with you.
