Graffiti Life

Embarrassing, though artistic

Chapter 1 by zaick zaick

(After some hiatus, I've returned to writing. In light of having a more busy job life of, well, writing, I've decided to focus on actually finishing some of these scenarios rather than having the originally intended 50-100 endings. I've always intended to have a focus on choice, but honestly, I just don't have time for that. So! Over the next couple months expect my stories to actually have some finished choices, and I can expand from there. Thanks!)

It was a hot, humid night beside a river.

Jo was a graffiti artist an avid climber who worked commonly with her constant supporters. She put together the group in high school, and they continued their tags years later. She was dressed in a hoodie and leggings for optimal movement.

Wes was a thrill seeker and the rational head of the group. He had no artistic prowess, though was strong enough to keep the rest going. He had a dark long sleeved shirt and sweat pants with shorts underneath.

Sami was a small bundle of judgmental energy. Her life revolved around telling people off and almost getting things done. Next to Jo, however, her ideas sometimes came to fruition. She was good at tagging, scaring people off, or even kicking people in the shins, though was not a climber. She wore a small jacket and crop top, with shorts below that.

Pila was a quiet, talented for the party. Her painting abilities were a dream and often she could map out a giant tag in a moment. She was not, however, physical active in any way, or easy to work with considering she did not offer many opinions. She wore coveralls to block paint over a pair of shorts and small shirt.

Lastly was Rat, who as Sami would complain, was just sort of there for the ride. Rat had amazing eyes and ears, and was the first to always tell them someone was coming. He was not particularly strong, but he tagged pretty decently when he was not shaking with nerves they were about to be caught.

Jo's dream tag was always a temple to the side of downtown. It was likely a masonic temple, and always abandoned as long as she could remember. Recently, it looked as if someone was getting it renovated, as there were people working on it nearly 24/7, with scaffolding and fences all around aside from the one area where it faced a pond. It was three stories tall with multiple broken windows, and more than that, it was view-able by thousands every daylight hour.

With news that it was bought up to be renovated, she realized she had missed her opportunity to tag it before it became a new, busy spot. She had to tag it now, before it finished construction, and that led the group out that night with their bags. Aside from the plan that they would have to tag fast, likely with some construction and lights going somewhere, they also had to plan which side they would approach the building. Any of the fenced sides had more traffic right at entry. The pond, however, was fencing around as well, but was dark and further away. They could make it to the temple on the blind side where they knew there were no lights.

To start the night, which side does Jo decide to approach?
