Glory Bound

For as long as she could remember Gloria Gervaise had been fitter than the other girls, not just stronger, but faster and tougher too. It wasn't until a car accident on the way home from her prom that she realised just how special she truly was. After the car had been slammed off the road by a runaway eighteen-wheeler, caught between two tree trunks as a small fire began to burn from the shorted electrics, Gloria found herself uninjured apart from a few very superficial scratches.

After battering her way out of the wreckage she then ripped the car apart with her bare hands in order to rescue her boyfriend, but it was already too late for him. The shattered driving column had impaled him through the chest, killing him instantly on impact. For weeks Gloria hardly talked to anyone, the man she thought she loved was dead, taken so randomly by an event which she could have prevent had she known about her strengths.

Vowing never to let another innocent die when it could possibly be prevented Gloria fashioned a costume for herself from the ruins of her prom dress, including the crown she'd been awarded as Queen of the Prom. Taking to the streets she began patrolling her neighbourhood for trouble, helping out whenever she could under the guise of Glory Gal. Her activities were soon noticed by the Genetic Investigation and Facilitation Team of Freedom Corp and an agent was sent out to make contact with her.

The first Gloria knew about this organisation was when a strange man in a suit approached her after a track meet. She'd easily outpaced the other girls and won almost every event and as she toweled sweat from her brow the man made her an offer. Given her abilities and her wish to help others GIFT were willing to give her the training and equipment she needed to really make a difference. She sprung at the offer, immediately signing onto the government sponsored programme which would allow her to finally unlock her potential.

Pretty soon she'd handed in her homemade outfit for a specially created latex version with armour padding woven into the material. The improved defense was no matter for her of course since tests performed by GIFT to measure her abilities had shown her to be virtually indestructible, but not having to patch up her costume after every little act of heroism was certainly a bonus.

Unfortunately working with the government had a downside and pretty soon the young heroine found herself in the sights of villains whose own agendas differed from the authorities. Not only that but other people also started to show an unhealthy interest in the buxom young girl...
