"Allright mom, I'm heading out," Riley called from the front door. Topanga had just enough time to look around the corner of the kitchen to see the last bit of Riley's long brown hair disappearing through the front door as it shut.

"Goodbye, I guess," she said

She turned back to finish pouring her coffee when she felt someone rush past behind her. She turned to see Corey heading toward the door, trying to straighten his tie while holding his jacket in one hand.

As he turned and met her confused gaze he let out a defeated sigh. "Okay, so please don't be mad at me, but I totally forgot there was a teacher's breakfast and work meeting at the school today. He noticed the look on her face and responded, "I'm so sorry I forgot to tell you. It completely slipped my mind. And I made the mistake of sleeping in. I'm really sorry, but I have to go."

"Its a good thing I put it on the calendar then." She replied, smiling at him and holding up his messenger bag that he was about to forget. Now it was his turn to look confused.

"You told me about it last week. I guess you forgot that you forgot," she teased.

"You're the best" he said as he took the bag and kissed her gently. He then turned, finished straightening his tie, and was halfway out the door before looking back and shouting "Love you honey. I'll see you this afternoon."

And then he was out the door and down the hall.

Topanga sighed and smiled to herself. He hadn't even remembered to shut the door. As she went to shut it herself, she heard some kind of commotion down the hall.

'That sounds like someone moving furniture,' she thought to herself as the door shut. She then walked back over to the table and sat down to enjoy her coffee. She was about to take a sip when she heard a loud sound from the alley outside the fire escape.

She rolled her eyes and said to herself "Never a dull moment around here. It's a good thing I finally got Riley to start locking that fire escape window." She sipped her coffee, sat back, and let herself sink into her favorite chair. She then turned her head to look at the clock. Noting the time, she raised an eyebrow.
