Get the High Score

It's been a long week and you love spending a few hard earned quarters in the local arcade to unwind. The arcade was a bit more bare than usual as you insert fifty cents into Terminator Salvation. You've played it several times before. You think you played it a little too much since you memorized where to shoot and how to stay alive longer than anyone would expect. You relax and a new machine catches your eye.

Normally, nothing can distract you, but this new machine had all sorts of bells and whistles going off. The distraction forces you to lose and "Insert 50 credits to continue" flashes on the screen. You put the light gun back in to the machine and walk over to the new machine. The kid playing it seemed to be having fun setting off all the lights and sounds. In between the flashes of light, you make out the title of the game "XXX."

It used the standard joy stick and buttons like a lot of arcade machines use. You couldn't really see the game since the kid was blocking it, but you'll get your turn when he's done. The excitement of playing this new game was welling up inside of you.

The machine flashes a few more times and you hear the speakers blast "Game Over." The kid walked away disappointed. The high scores flashed on the screen and they all looked like the default values. The kid didn't even beat the lowest score.

You step up to the machine and insert your twenty-five cents. "Press start" fills the screen and you slap the button in anticipation of this unknown game.
