When modern humans first appeared on Earth, sex had been a thing for a very long time. Humans just came up with a set of rules for it; must be a certain age, must be mutual, must not be with a family member, etc. The on thing they never thought would be need was that it would need to be mandatory. What most didn't realize was that much like another movie which depicted a world with an average IQ lower than a snake's belly, reality often matches fiction. In this case, in the year 203x, something caused a dramatic shift towards genderlessness.

Most people agree it was not a single day or a group of people that can be pointed to as the beginning of the Genderless. You might be thinking "so no one claimed a gender any more. What's the big deal?"

Well, what we really mean by "genderless" is sexless. I'm not talking about not having sexual intercourse. I'm talking about not having sexes. No genitals. No tools with which to fuck. No male and female. No sex. I'm also not talking just humans. The entire animal kingdom lost the binary nature of sex. It was hell for breeders and pet groomers. People generally don't care how little Fluffy looks if she is not a she any more. The industry hardest hit was the midwife industry. No one needs midwives if no one is having kids. Condom manufacturers weren't so happy either. Some things actually improved; any job which required focus and concentration was much easier to do once the hot coworker was no longer distracting you from it.
