Finals Week

Chapter 1 by wit1 wit1

Finals week was a stressful time. Every professor wanted you to tell them everything they taught you during the semester. You only had three hours to do it. As an 18 year old freshman, this was the first time you've experienced finals week. To make matters worse, your exam schedule was is atrocious. Friday was the last day of class. You had a quiz in Geography, a lab report due in Chemistry, and a term paper due in English.   Yesterday was Sunday. It was the first day of finals week. You had finals in Geography and Calculus. cThis morning you had your Chemistry final. And in the afternoon, you finished finals weeks with back-to-back finals in English and History.

You were decidedly burned out. You had just spent the last two hours and fifty-five minutes staring blankly at the little circles that made up your answer sheet and tapping the eraser of your number 2 pencil on the desk. Only when Professor Meredith announced that there were five minutes left did you realize you had zoned out.

It took two minutes for you to realize you had no chance to answer every question in time. You quickly began to fill in random circles for each question. You figured that at this point you had nothing to lose by guessing.

You were barely halfway done when the rest of the class began to file out.

You hurried through the rest of the test. By the time you fill in the last circle, the rest of the class has already filed out.  Grabbing your exam and what remained of your soda, you hastily made your way to the front of the classroom. Professor Meredith was busy looking over a stack of exams from another class. You breathed a sigh of relief as the professor didn't look up as you placed your exam on the pile of papers on the desk. You were almost to the door when the professor spoke up.
