Emily wanted to blame it on something. If Netflix didn't release their show episodes all at once then she wouldn't have watched every episode of the latest Black Mirror season until 3 A.M this morning. If she hadn't stayed up to binge her favorite Netflix series then she wouldn't have forgotten to charge her iPhone and it wouldn't have died overnight. If her phone's alarm had gone off at 5:45 A.M. like every typical weekday morning then James wouldn't have forgotten his work phone like he had done this morning. If he hadn't forgotten his work phone, the thing he safeguarded more than his own social security number, she wouldn't have heard the vibrating rattle on the wooden dining table after she had dried their plates from breakfast.
