Dungeon Keeper: Conquest of Avalon

In the deep lurking depths of the Underworld there lies a vast network of caverns, chambers and tunnels keeping ancient relics, ruins and cities hidden, from these dark caverns had ancient relics of power been discovered. Remnants of an ancient age when beings of vast power ruled over all of Avalon in harmony before falling away during a great cataclysm, leaving nothing but lost and forgotten knowledge amongst their underground citadels. These relics were to be called, Dungeon Hearts, when it was discovered that a single being could bind themselves to these pulsing fountains of red mana and gain incredible magical power, these people were to be known as the Dungeon Keepers.

The power of a Dungeon Heart was always unique, some more advanced then the others, some even containing advanced forms of already known abilities of the hearts. But there were two things that they all shared in common, the first was the fact that a Dungeon Heart could copy the abilities of another Dungeon Heart through different ways, but the most common was to destroy the other heart and absorb its mana. The second thing these artifacts held in common was that they were all corrupted by the dark gods who had infused dark magic into them after the fall of the ancients, corrupting those who took control over them, to assure a worshiper to build their dark temples and sacrifice creatures to their honor. Yeah the dark gods were bunch of high strung, attention seeking, manipulating, sludges who couldn't help but feel good about themselves by getting a mindless worshiper to kill things in their honor.

Dungeon Hearts granted more then just personal powers though, they granted the power of the Imps, magical constructs who were used as labor to dig fresh tunnels for the rooms. The rooms being another power of the hearts that let the dungeon Keepers attract different creatures from the Underworld to act as his personal army, the more kinds of room you had the more kinds of creatures you could gain. Food, Water, Home and Gold is what these beings desire. The Underworld is a dangerous place with few places for any being to live peacefully, even while under the command of a Keeper these creatures would prefer to be under a cruel master and allowed to feed and eat, rather then to be wandering the damp cold tunnels in search of food and any possible temporary nest. There were many cities but the majority of them were owned by Keepers or even the Forces of Light.

The Forces of Light were the so called good guys who sought to slay all that was dark and unholy, aka the dwellers of the Underworld, not even considering their own corruption, thinking themselves as above common corruption and sin. They had built many cities in the Underworld as bases, strongholds and fortresses to use as a front line against he Keepers and, ironically, keep them from reaching the surface.

Avalon is a large and vast world, filled with kingdoms and lands, all connected by the underground caverns of the Underworld which lead even bellow the surface of the seas. Keepers, Kings, Monsters an commoners die all the time and are born a new in an never ending circle of battle and destruction against both sides. And now a new Keeper has arrived and perhaps this one Keeper, will be the oen to change it all?
