Dharmendra Road

Finding Love Once Again

Chapter 1 by LiteraryArt789 LiteraryArt789

Dharmendra road was surprisingly quiet on this October afternoon. Nestled in her tiny kitchen, Kanchana was supervising her vegetable stew. The chopped onions and cucumber along diced carrots seemed to swirl on forever. Hers was a small apartment in an ancient building. The greenish plaster was falling off in many places but repairs was something she could not afford as a simple tax returns employee. The liabilities didn’t stop there as a broken window, leaky pipes and frequent power outages added to her woes. Even in the midst of it all, it was still her little home and she adored it. As the steam whisked around failing to find an exit, Kanchana pondered over how drastically her life had changed.

It felt like centuries ago when she was laying in a lavish teak wood bed on the night of their exclusive wedding. Ujesh took off his fancy robe and climbed on top of her. He only lowered his pajamas to knee level and didn’t bother to take it off completely. Kanchana loved how his gorged hairy belly brushed on top of hers and sent shock waves through her naked body. Ujesh was a healthy fellow with a flat face and dense facial hair. He lowered his jaw to couple it with hers. As his beard pricked her face and neck, Ujesh was hovering his pelvis to find the entrance to paradise. Kanchana could feel every scent in his breath as her tongue explored her husband. Mutton biriyani, tandoori chicken, butter paneer, methi parata and the works washed down with an enormous glass of goats milk. A feast fitting for a king who was properly equipped to satisfy his queen. Kanchana heard the fabled words ‘I love you’ as he found the opening and gradually ploughed forward. She gasped in raw excitement as his firm buttocks powered through every movement and jolting the bed in process. Ujesh was a masterful love maker who ventured deep into uncharted territory to cement his claim. He discharged gallantly as her body squirmed in joy. ‘Turn over my love’ Ujesh instructed her as he retracted his gooey shaft. Kanchana was spellbound as she flipped over and positioned herself on all fours. He plunged in grabbing her waist and carved away with lucid crafty strokes. How powerful it felt. Finally Kanchana screamed in over satisfaction as her husband’s creamy warmth spewed through once again. Ujesh slummed on top of her back, all spent. He was still lodged deep inside as she heard the sacred words yet again. Unfortunately, the flashback was cut short.

The buildup of steam had quickly dragged her back to reality. Oh my! Kanchana ran to the next room and opened the shutters. Fanning herself with her dupatta, she went back to the stew. No harm done. She set the pot down to cool and turned off the stove. How strangely the tide had turned against her favor, Kanchana thought. Slowly, Ujesh’s appetite and expectations grew at an exponential rate. Something that she had failed to cope with leading ultimately to their separation. Word had reached her that Ujesh was remarried to a much younger woman named Ishani. Kanchana fiddled with the pot handles and thought about the new couple. How Ishani was satisfying his needs and how Ujesh took pride in having a beautiful young wife. He took it all away. The sobbing had begun afresh.

Few blocks away, a young man was navigating past the narrow streets flooded with cycles and street mongers. Subhash had finally decided that today was the day he would muster up his courage and proclaim his feelings to a very special woman. She had bought an appliance from the shop at which he worked at as a sales executive. Since the deal was to pay in instalments, it was his job every month to acquire the accrued amount. Honestly, it gave him the perfect excuse to visit her. However, the woman had been facing some difficulties lately and Subhash was more than lenient. Little did she know that he had longed for her every since that first meeting.

After 20 minutes of walking through the bustling alleys, Subhash had made it to the old building. He unhinged the shackled main gate and proceeded to take the stairs. The steps were worn out as the infrastructure itself, with chips missing here and there. It was inhabited by a few domestic pets occasionally giving visitors an awkward stare. Subhash had climbed all the way up to the fourth floor as he took a deep breath and knocked softly on the door marked 4B.

Who could that be? Kanchana dabbed away her tears and attended the door. ‘Hello Mr. Subhash’ she greeted her visitor. He was a gentle and professional man dressed neatly in formal attire with a matching tie. Kanchana however, past her prime and had recently gained weight. Even in a slack green kameez and trousers, her belly was bulging. ‘Good afternoon Miss Kanchana’ he replied graciously. ‘I apologise about not being unable to pay your money. Just give me some more time I’ll...’ she was surprisingly interrupted.

He couldn’t wait any longer. Subhash threw himself upon Kanchana and hugged her tightly. ‘I love you Miss Kanchana. You have no idea how I long for you. Everyday I ask myself: has she eaten properly, does she sleep well? I want to hold your hands and be beside you’. Completely caught of guard, she said ‘ Mr. Subhash I....I don’t know what to say. I’m a lack lustre and overweight dark woman barely struggling to make ends meet. What could possibly attract you towards me?’ His eyes lingered for an instant and replied ‘ You’re none of those things. You’re the most special woman I know. The only thing you can offer me is this’. As Subhash touched her chest, Kanchana felt her heart instantly melt and closed her eyes. Love. Eventually, their lips curled together and so did their arms around each other.

She led him by his hand to the single bed in the corner. Kanchana felt hypnotised in a feeling that was long lost. She unbuckled his pants and took off her own trousers. Subhash gently laid her down and rose on top. The car horns were honking outside but it didn’t matter. Her hair smelt of musty oil but it didn’t matter. His shirt was drenched in sweat but it didn’t matter. ‘Make me whole again Mr. Subhash’. She had spoken and that’s all that mattered.

It was 7:56pm. The neighbourhood was slowly retiring into the night and a cool breeze was blowing. Kanchana stared at the sluggish ceiling fan. Subhash had entered her life and had managed to erase the painful memory of her failed marriage. He slept peacefully cuddled in her arms. She didn’t even contemplate the consequences of the commotion they were causing. Let them listen, let the whole building hear me roar in happiness, she told herself. Moments ago, he was imbedded deep inside her. Subhash used all his strength to inject her with passion and hope. He quailed in joy.She could still feel his creamy liquids pumping through her turgid flesh. As his love oozed out, she happily absorbed every single drop until his knees gave away. Kanchana unmade his tie and gave him an exhausted laugh. Foolish man.

A drained and depleted Subhash gradually woke up. ‘Hey Miss Kanchana’ he said in a weak voice. Clearly yielding twice had taken a hefty toll. ‘Mr. Subhash, you kept me waiting. Listen I have a proposition for you. I’ve prepared some dinner which consists of stew and potato curry. Would you share some with me? Perhaps we can get to know each other as well’ She asked. ‘Only if you allow me to make you some masala lemon tea afterwards’ He replied with a faint smile

Subhash and Kanchana went through dinner and tea as agreed upon. He helped her with the dishes and chatted for hours past midnight, seated near the broken window. ‘So, any ex girlfriends I should know about?’ She inquired. ‘One. Malini in college. It ended under strange circumstances. We were attending the prom night and I was heavily intoxicated. She led me down to one of the bathrooms at the end of the hallway. Swiftly, she straddled me in one of the stalls and I felt myself slide in. I grabbed her hips as they charged downwards and made me surrender within a matter of minutes. I felt my energy being milked away and I slowly faded out. Later on when I regained consciousness, she was gone and so were my phone, keys and locker contents. Malini had vanished with a chunk of my heart’ Subhash said with great difficulty. Immediately, Kanchana sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around him. She was surprised at how a teenager had used her sexuality to exploit such a kind hearted soul. ‘Poor baby. It’s alright, that vile girl was only looking for physical gains. Don’t let it deter you’ she said. ‘Guess.....you’re right. Ah... so what about you?’ Subhash regained his composure and asked. ‘No boyfriends, one ex husband. Ujesh. A rich realtor who was good in bed. But, that was his only merit. His ego and pride was too much for me to handle. I got a sizeable amount from the divorce but I couldn’t keep any trace of that man. So I donated it and came here to this corner of town to start a new. You know what the funny thing is? He wasted little time in retying the knot. That scumbag. Ishani was the perfect specimen. Buttermilk smooth skin, diva-like figure with style and grace. He must be enjoying life’ Kanchana explained.

They sat in silence for a while. ‘We let ourselves get attached to evil people like that. Now, we should focus on making amends. Thankfully, I have an idea. But, it would change our lives completely if we decide to go with it’ Subhash said and began to narrate his plan. Kanchana thought for a lengthy time and made her decision. ‘Make love to me here one more time and I’ll follow you anywhere’ she promised. As the morning sunshine began to creep through the shutters, she made him orgasm harder and deeper than ever before. Fully naked this time, it was special for both of them. A change was coming for the better.

The last surviving member had walked out to the crease. Earlier his teammates had tumbled one after the other. Fishing out the ball to slips or getting trapped leg before. It was now upto him to steer them out of this predicament. After all it was the pride of the east guli boys at stake versus their western counterparts.

The first delivery flew in and the boy safely nudged it to a nearby fielder. It was a skidding tarmac and the bowler was extracting ample movement out of it. Next ball was a bit quicker, turning from the rough and bottling up the batter in his tracks. ‘We’ve got this, he’ll go cheaply’ the opposition was chirping. Even the following delivery cramped him into a defensive box. He was cornered. Vultures everywhere. This is it, the young boy thought as the crows cawed overhead.

The penultimate ball swirled ahead. He took a deep breath and swung his bat at the taped projectile. To everyone’s surprise, it flew across road and high into one of the windows on the third floor. The shattering sound was their queue to escape before getting caught. In the end, victory had smiled upon the little boy.

As the youngsters ran for their lives, the taped tennis ball trickled along the floor and stopped near the bed in apartment 3B. But, it was left unattended as female inhabitant was long gone.
