It will try to corrupt you. Fulfill you base desires. Give you popups to more perks that have you wanting to do more in order to get them. The Devotion Multiplier should guide the actions of the protag. Even if it gives godlike power, remember it is it that is pulling the strings in the big picture by enticing the protag to do things in order to get what they want.
