Dead Space

Greywick High School is your standard high school. Nothing makes it stand out from any other school in New Bath City, not even if you narrow it down to just the Walkenburg Borough.

The students are no exception. They operate in the basic cliques you would expect.

You’ve got the Populars. The Jocks and the Cheerleaders who think they run the school, who everyone wants be or be with.

You’ve got the Theatre Kids. Those with the flair for the dramatics who care way too much about a high school production of Beauty and the Beast or some shit.

You’ve got the Stoners. The ones who don’t give a fuck about anyone else, and especially authority: they’re just here to chill.

You’ve got the Nerds. The overachievers and teacher’s pets who get straight As and actually do extracurricular shit.

More could be listed, but I won’t for the sake of conciseness.

None of these will be the main focus of our story. Obviously they will play a part, but we are more concerned with the outliers. Those who exist outside of this hierarchy, not because they are special, or necessarily unique, or fighting the establishment, but because they are just straight up fucking weird, and no one really knows who they are. They are undefinable by a single word, because no one has ever been bothered to try. I present to you, the Dead Space.

Hi there! I don’t know if anyone will ever read this, but if you are, then I have a few Author’s Notes to make.

1. This is my first fully original story, so genuine apologies if it isn’t very good.
2. I am British. I have attempted to write as Americanly as possible, but if any Englishisms snuck through, then try to ignore them.
3. Make sure to check the comments of each chapter if you want some ‘Director’s Commentary’. I’ll dive into a bit of my thought process for anyone who’s interested.
4. If my stupid characters inspire you to write your own branches, feel free! I’d love to see other people have a crack at this world, or potentially a fun AU!
