Daughter's new girlfriends

You are lying in bed thinking about the day your wife Charlene died.

It was 10 years ago. You came in from work upset that you had been looked over for a promotion. You work for Jones and Sons Law Firm. Charlene asked you how work was. You yelled at her that it was none of her business. She said she would give you some time to think and would go pick up Madeline from school. Madeline is/was our daughter. Anyway I was watching through the window as Charlene walked to her car on the side of the road and BAM!!! An ambulance ran her over. The back right wheel snapped her neck in two.

I cried for two whole hours before I got a phone call from Madeline. "Why haven't you or mom come to pick me up from school yet?" she asked upset. I calmly said to her. "I will be there in 5 minutes." when she got in the car I told her the news. "mom was run over by an ambulance. Her neck got snapped by the back wheel." Madeline just cried and cried for almost 5 full days. For the first day she kept sobbing and saying "it is just a nightmare. A horible horible nightmare." over and over. Finally we did get semi back to a normal routine. Well as normal as possible. We even managed to win a court case over the hospital for lots of money.

I snap back to reality when I here Madeline. "Dad, I'm home" she says. You get up and go to the living room to give her a hug. "How's your day been?" you ask her. "I've got a date tonight" she says. "So who asked you out?" you ask curiosly. You both sit on the couch. "I have no idea. They just slipped this note in my locker at school." she replies handing you the note.

The note reads "Roses are red, Violets are blue. Do you want to hang out just me and you? I'll be waiting at 7pm on friday you see. Over the road from school at the diner named Aubrey's. Ps: bring your father if you whish."

3 hours later you walk in and sit down at a table. You and Madeline each order dinner and wait. At 7:15 you hear a girly voice behind Madeline say "Hey Madeline, sorry I'm late."

You both turn around and Madeline says "Hey..."
