Chapter 1
by Goonbot59
Emma’s phone buzzed violently against her nightstand, the sound like a trapped wasp. She groaned, rolling over in bed, her bleary eyes struggling to adjust to the morning light seeping through her cheap apartment blinds. The clock read 8:17 AM—way too early for this shit.
She grabbed her phone, thumb smearing against the screen as she swiped away a dozen sleep-texts from her best friend, Lex. Then she froze.
1,247 Notifications.
Her stomach dropped.
That couldn’t be right.
Emma sat up, heart suddenly pounding. She wasn’t big on TikTok—just another 20-something posting dumb dances, occasional rants, and the odd **** moment when she’d had one too many wines. Her follower count hovered around 3K, and most of her videos barely scraped a few hundred likes.
But this?
This was different.
Her thumb hovered over the app, pulse thudding in her ears. What the hell had she posted last night that had gone so viral?
She posted so many TikToks but none of them ever went viral. Had it been a joke? A vent? A dance?
The notifications kept coming.
@user48291: lmao why does she look like that
@truthsayer44: she’s totally faking her accent
@mysticmoonchild: this girl is giving ✨chaotic bisexual✨ vibes
Emma’s breath hitched. None of those things were true—were they?
She opened the app.
Her video stared back at her.
And the view count:
2.1M.
Emma’s mouth went dry.
What the fuck had she posted?

Emma, a 23-year-old aspiring influencer, posts what she thinks is just another harmless TikTok—a playful dance, a sarcastic rant, or maybe a confession. But when the algorithm pushes her video onto the wrong side of TikTok, the comments section becomes something far more sinister. At first, the replies are just cruel, then bizarre, then impossible. Strangers describe changes in her appearance she never made. They insist she said things she never said. And worst of all… they start being right. As the comments rewrite her reality—altering her body, her memories, even her personality—Emma must figure out how to stop the digital curse consuming her before she becomes nothing more than a puppet of the crowd. But the internet never forgets… and it’s always typing.
