Chapter 1 by HYjaCK HYjaCK

It had taken a few hours for the trip to your new home to end, and you had soon fallen asleep during the coach journey. After a sudden jolt, you woke up with a groan. The other people inside the vehicle were gone, and you were the only person left. Sighing, you stand and walk to the front of the coach, which seemed to have stopped for a while. As you step out, the cool night air washed over you, bringing you a certain sense of happiness. Yet, as you got out your ID Pass, you paused.

"So this is it. A chance for a new life in... Black Orchid..." You smiled softly to yourself, reading the back of the pass. It described a small and tranquil closed-off town, where people seemed genuinely happy to reside. The pass itself was randomly sent to you after you had filled in a brief application form, and you had soon found yourself on a plane, and then a coach heading to this intriguing location. It was weird, sure, but it was apparently completely free.

Inspecting the card, you looked at your details and tilted your head. Your name, Dan Peters, and age, 19, were correct, of course, but for unknown reasons, it stated you were a 'Priority Green'. Shrugging it off, you pocketed the pass and began to head towards a large steel gate.

Beside the gate were very thick white walls. It looked dense and surprisingly clean with no mud or plant life growing on either side. On the wall, there was a small key-card slot, with a button and a framed note beside it. The note said:

'Welcome, friend! We're glad to see that you've arrived in good health! Please swipe your ID Pass and press the button to enter your new home!'

"Well..." You muttered, doing as the note said. "This should be interesting..."

With a jolt, the gate in front of you began to open. As they creaked open, you hesitantly stepped forward, looking in awe at the beautiful serenity of the houses surrounding you. Each one seemed similar, with a small garden outside and a lamp every-so-often along the pavement. A feeling of comfort hit you, and you smiled.

Welcome home.
