Channel You

Prologue

It started with the launch of a new international TV and radio station. It was global. No-one knew where it had come from, and all attempts to locate the source failed. All that was ever broadcast was this minimalist piece of music, so quiet that you weren't sure if you were even hearing it. Speculation grew about it. The music was played on the BBC, CNN, ABC news shows whilst so-called 'experts' debated about it's origin. Everyone heard it and tuned in at least once a day (often more). Then after a month the sound and visuals changed. With no warning, everyone found themselves compelled to go to a computer, or call a phone number. Everyone did. No-one could resist, no-one wanted to. It seemed like the most natural thing in the world to do what was asked by the channel.

When they visited the website or rang the number they were asked a long series of questions covering everything from name and DoB to bank details and even sexual preferences. No-one lied. They couldn't. Even if they could they wouldn't want to. Interestingly no-ones surveys were exactly the same. It seemed to adapt on the fly according to your previous answers as no-one had exactly the same questionnaire.

Life carried on mostly as normal, but there were some changes. There was no more crime. Police forces disbanded and found new jobs. Every government joined the UN, and eventually the UN became the only ruling body. Still no-one knew what the source of the channel was. All they knew was that they had to listen at least once a day. The most obvious change was in sexual taboos. There were none. Providing all parties consented with a simple 'Yes' (which always happened) then anything went.

This story takes place 25 years after the arrival of YouTV.

Chapter 1

John, Alex, Emily, Lauren, Katherine and Rebecca were all born on the 3rd March 2020. As was normal they all had DNA samples taken and sent to the local YouTV centre. At the age of 5 they were all sat in front of YouTV. As they watched their brains were conditioned. Like a delicate whisper in their mind they were made to accept the YouTV commands. They learned to accept that until they were 21 they would have roles chosen by YouTV. They become sexually uninhibited. And they found that all of them were to be good friends for life.

They also found out what their roles were to be for the next 2 years.

After they had finished being conditioned they were all taken, as instructed, to Johns parent's house on the outskirts of Washington. It was there that they began their roles.
