Here we have a choice between the embarrassing adventures of two fairly well off ladies in the 1920’s. Carly is a white woman, wishing to make her stamp in America so she will be remembered for all time, possibly as a singer or an actress, possibly even model. She’s his only child and he doesn’t trust anyone else so… who else could it be? Tilly is a black girl, wishing to be a famous artist and become famous in America.
