Beyond Horizon:

Lon woke up to the sun already shining through the entrance of their cave. He was still cuddled up against his twin sister Fara. Hungry from going to bed without a meal once again, Lon got up as quietly as possible. Putting on his hunter garment would make to much noise, so he wanted to see if he could find some berries our fruits nearby. Lon grabbed the leather mesh and made his way out of the cave.
The trees nearby were already plucked, but Lon spotted one large apple tree near a river that looked promising. The day must have started a few hours ago. A few deer fled into the woods as the boy got closer. Lon filled the mesh with apples und also stuffed a few into his leather tunic, before returning to the hideout.
Fara was already waiting for him.

"Did you find something to eat? I'm starving."

"How about this?"

Lon held up one of the apples and threw it to his sister. Her face was immediately brightened by a hungry smile. Both of them ate a few apples.

"I think we should get going soon. There's not much food left here."

"You're probably right. Although I liked it here. Plus if we travel any further north we might risk freezing to at night, so we need a better insulated place than this."

Gesturing towards the small caves entrance Lon continued.****

"The wind whistled through every hole in there last night. I barely managed to sleep."

He yawned.

"I might be able to make us some new clothes or blankets, if you could bring in some animal hides."

"I'll just go clean up by the river and then grab my equipment. Maybe you can use up some of the spare leather for a new belt. Mine is getting loser and begins to crack up."

"A new belt shouldn't be a problem. Go ahead."

Lon took of towards the river, leaving Fara behind. She put his hunter garment on a rock next to the cave and started tidying up a little. Already preparing for their next departure.
