Becoming someone else

John Doe.

Just a young man who's trying to make it on his own, that's all. I'm about as average as they come. Never was anything to special. Never really had any friends either, never really fit in anywhere, you know? And don't even get me started with the ladies, they might as well not even exist in my life. I've tried to make so many changes, and yet I've been to only live with porn for forever. I'm hoping one of these days I find the thing that's holding me back, but I just have to keep trying.

In the meantime, however, I've actually been doing pretty good for myself. The thing recently is I've finally moved out, and I actually saved enough money to get a place of my own in the last few months. It's a nice place, well equipped for one man to stay alone in. I've got everything I need, including my bedroom, kitchen, living room, even an office for my work. Speaking of, works been pretty good too. I work from home most of the time, which is really nice. However, the only issue is the money just hasn't been enough. I've put in extra hours, but recently I've been coming up short. for a new opportunity to earn money, I find myself driving to a downtown laboratory. The lab of Alicia Blackburn.

The opportunity was to take part in some kind of experiment. I didn't really understand the mumbo jumbo of it, but I needed the money. It was a good payout, so I supposed the risk was worth it.

I walk into the big office building and am instantly greeted by the scientist. Dr. Alicia Blackburn.

"Hello! You must be Mister Doe." She says. She's very excited.

"Yep, That's me." I respond, clearly not matching her energy.

"Right this way." She leads me around the corner and down the hall. Looking around, I see all kinds of crazy stuff. Experiments left and right, some amazing and others not so much. All them so incredible I literally can't even think of how to describe it. The young doctor brings me into an empty lab room, with a major machine in the middle. It's just the two of us in the room. I sign maybe a thousand pieces of paper and then she gets things underway.

"Alright, wonderful." She writes some things down and then lays her clipboard on one of the countertops. "Go ahead and strip down."

"I'm sorry?" I asked.

"Just to your underwear. Don't worry, its for the experiment."

"Oh, alright." I do as I'm asked and soon I'm standing in my boxers before a beautiful woman. I'm so desperately trying not to look at her. Not because I don't want too, but because the last thing I want is to embarrass myself by pitching a tent at 10 in the morning.

"Ok, lay down on this bed." Again, I listen to the doctor, and I'm starting to think that this is going somewhere else.

"Ok, so what's going to happen, is that we are going to hook you into this machine, and we are going to leave you in there for a few hours." The doctor says low-key crushing my dreams.

"What's going to happen to me?" I ask, which is something I should've done ages ago.

"We are just trying to see if there is an opening where we can change DNA into physical attributes. Its a long story, but you can read all about it afterwards if you like."

Oh man, now I'm excited. "How long will I be under exactly?"

"It will most likely be 8 hours."

Jeez! That explains the pay rate...

"Ok, I think I'm ready."

Dr. Blackburn comes around to the side of the machine and begins hooking me up to it. After a few pokes and stings I'm completely attached to the machine, and the doors are closed in my face. "Thank you." She says, sealing me in. Now, I can't see anything, but I can feel things... happening...
