Batgirl: Asylum Inmate

Batgirl perches on a gargoyle, starting her patrol. She's alone in Gotham, with the rest of the Batfamily off on various adventures with their teams.

Her father, former GCPD Commissioner Jim Gordon, had passed away years ago. She was thankful it was a peaceful ****, especially in his line of work.

As she reminisced on old times with her father, a call came in.

"Shots fired, I repeat, shots fired! Crime Alley!"

Batgirl jumped off the building, gliding towards the crime scene.

Batgirl arrives down at the scene in no time. The reports of shots fired weren't wrong, as she sees a man lying on the ground below. A pool of blood is surrounding him, making it very clear that he had been the victim of the gunshots.

"No..." she muttered, noticing that he was a member of the GCPD as she got closer.

She dropped onto the street, running over to him. With any luck, he'd still be alive and she could save him. As she got closer, her hopes dwindled. His eyes were closed, and it didn't appear he was breathing.

"Officer, can you hear me? Officer?" she asked, putting her hand against his wrist to search for a pulse.

There was none. It was unfortunately clear that the man was deceased. She needed to find out who was responsible for this and bring them to justice.

Before she could act, sirens blared behind her. Almost instantly, the GCPD themselves were investigating the reported shots fired.

"Batgirl! What's going on here?" shouted a man from behind her.

"This Officer has been shot. I...I don't think he made it," she replied.

"Damn it. Who did it?"

"I didn't see. I just arrived seconds before you did."

More GCPD cars arrived, with officers beginning to file out of their car. They were all horrified by the sight before them.

"Batgirl!"

She turned, seeing the source of the new call. It was Harvey Bullock, the Detective who hated her and her masked allies more than any other member of the GCPD.

"Detective Bullock. I'm sorry I couldn't get here in time to save your friend."

"Sure. How are we supposed to know you're not the one who put him down?" asked the chubby man.

"W-what? I don't use guns, everyone knows that," insisted Batgirl.

"Maybe not yet. The way I see it, our only option here is to take you in."

Batgirl was shocked. He wanted to arrest her! She turned, noticing that the officers had her surrounded. Bullock saw her surprise, he knew she would try to escape as soon as she could.

"Batgirl, you're under arrest. You can either come quietly, or we can do this the hard way."

The famous heroine glanced around the area again. There were dozens of cops, all of which surrounding her. Sure, she could fight them all, but these were good people.

Batgirl wasn't sure what to do next.
