Aperitif

"Good evening, Doctor Doe. Glad to have you on the team." Jack Crawford opened the door for the young woman and followed her into the office.

"I'm honored to be here sir," she replied. Having a doctorate in psychology and previously recruited to small cases by the FBI, Jane Doe had jumped at the chance to officially work on a newer, bigger case; not to mention the fact that she would be working with some of her peers from her school days: Will Graham, Alana Bloom, and Beverly Katz, among others.

"So let's cut to the chase," Crawford said, sliding into his seat as he pulled out a stack of papers. "I'm going to assign you to the Chesapeake Ripper case as well as anything that comes up with that team. You've met a few of them before, but I'd like you to talk to some of your new coworkers so they can fill you in on the details."

Handing her a file, he explained the basic facts of the case as she rifled through it, glancing at the list of names of who she should meet up with, as well as how best to contact them. "Well, that's about it, so I'll cut you loose. I expect to see you Monday morning up to date with what's happening. Drive safe," he finished.

"You too," replied Jane, stepping out of the office.

As she entered her car, she checked her watch and decided that it wouldn't be too late to start paying visits to her new coworkers. Going down the list in her head, she started evaluating who she should start with.
