A Dinner Date with Chelsea

Friday night, alone again. You unlock the door to your empty apartment. A gaming chair in the middle of your living room, a standing tv tray, your gaming computer and monitor sitting on a storage tote where a tv would have been and the glow from the stove light are all that great you. You drop your keys in a partially unwrapped amazon box next to the door and head to the fridge. Opening the door you squint to see inside, the fridge bulb has been out for a few days, you keep meaning to order a replacement but it doesn't seem that important to you. You grab the last beer and pull the sticky note off that reads, 'Happy Birthday!' Its your favorite, a black and tan stout. You think you'll head out later and get more.

You head to your gaming chair, twist off the cap and take a long drag of your beer, and sit in the dark silence for a few minutes. With a deep bellow sign you relax, just glad the week is over. As you do the light above the stove starts to flicker and then with a short but loud buzz, its out. Your blinds are closed, and for a brief moment that stretched on forever you are in almost complete darkness.

Its been just like this since your girlfriend or rather your ex-girlfriend broke up with you and moved out 2 months ago taking with her the couch, the tv stand, the tv, the bed, most of the cookware, etc...

You've poured yourself into your job, so much so that you haven't spent any time replacing any of the things she took. The only thing she left you was the beer and your gaming computer, well yeah, your clothes and such.
