Chapter 22 in The Family Tree Paradox

The window was cold against her palm. She pressed her hand flat to the glass, watching the street below. Cars passed. A woman walked her dog. The world continued its ordinary rotation, completely unaware that her husband had just blinked out of existence in the living room behin...

Chapter 25 in The Family Tree Paradox

Warmth. Wet. Slow. The sensation pulled her from sleep like a tide—gentle, insistent, inevitable. She wasn't awake yet, not fully, but her body already knew what was happening. Her hips tilted. Her thighs parted. Her breath caught and deepened. His tongue was on her. That prac...

Chapter 4 in Father's Day

Daddy shifted beneath me. My cheek was pressed to his chest, his heartbeat a steady drum under my ear. Mom’s breathing had gone soft and regular on his other side—that slow, heavy rhythm I knew meant she was gone for the night. I traced idle patterns on his forearm, felt the mus...

Chapter 3 in Father's Day

The recliner’s leather creaked as I shifted my weight, Lilly still curled against my chest. Her breath was warm through the cotton of my shirt, her fingers tracing idle patterns on my forearm. On my left, Joclyn’s head had slipped lower, her cheek now pressed to the armrest, lips...

Chapter 1 in Father's Day

The garage door hummed its familiar rumble through the house. I kicked off my work boots, loosened my tie, and heard the patter of feet before I saw her. Lilly launched herself at me. “Happy Father’s Day, Daddy!” Her arms locked...

Chapter 2 in Father's Day

The garage door rumbled through the house, and my heart kicked against my ribs. I heard his boots hit the mat, the jingle of his keys dropping into the bowl. Three, two, one—I was already moving, bare feet slapping the hardwood. He barely had time to blink before I launched. !...

Chapter 30 in The Family Tree Paradox

I'm not gonna lie, I don't want to let this story go. Here's a fun chart to follow the "Who made who and when" If Barbara/Mandy's son goes back to the late 50's/early 60's and becomes Jessica's father, he would become his own great...

Chapter 2 in The Family Tree Paradox

This story came out far better than I expected when I started it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please let me know if you find any inconsistencies. Time travel stories are challenging. I love reading your comments! Let me know what you think!

Chapter 29 in The Family Tree Paradox

The apartment is dark except for the light spilling from the bedroom door. Sam sits on the couch, the two chips warm in his palm. He's been holding them for twenty minutes, turning them over, feeling the impossible weight of their existence. Nancy sleeps down the hall. Pregnant....

Goodbyes

Chapter 28 in The Family Tree Paradox

The morning light is gray through the glass, the city still wrapped in the hush of early hours. Nancy's hand finds her stomach before her eyes open. Her palm presses flat against the skin below her navel, waiting, as if she might feel something already stirring. The sheets are c...

Chapter 26 in The Family Tree Paradox

The days blur together in a way that has nothing to do with time travel. Day two: After they recover, they have coffee on the patio, the city spread below like a circuit board waking up. Older Nancy sits across from her, bare feet tucked under her thighs, and they talk about the...

Chapter 27 in The Family Tree Paradox

The morning light is pale through the glass wall, soft and gray, still holding the memory of night. Nancy's eyelids flutter open. She's warm. Safe. Something soft and steady beneath her cheek. A heartbeat. She lifts her head slowly, the sheets slipping from her bare shoulder. B...

The Garden of Futures

Chapter 23 in The Family Tree Paradox

The light doesn't fade. It shatters. Nancy lands on her hands and knees on a surface that isn't carpet, isn't tile, isn't anything she has words for—smooth and faintly warm, humming with a frequency she feels in her molars. Her palms sting. Her ears ring. The air tastes like cop...

Chapter 24 in The Family Tree Paradox

"You look just like I remember you." The voice is deeper than she expects, smoother, like river stones worn by decades of current. The man—her husband—standing in the living room of a house she doesn't recognize, wearing a shirt the color of smoke and watching her with a look th...

Chapter 21 in The Family Tree Paradox

Three days left. The orb appears on the nightstand without ceremony. Sam notices it when he wakes—a sphere of glass no larger than his fist, hovering a few inches above the surface, turning slowly in the gray morning light. It hums. Not loud. Just enough that he can feel it in...

Chapter 20 in The Family Tree Paradox

The archive is a cathedral of forgetting. Mandy leads him through glass doors that part with a whisper, into a hall so vast the far wall dissolves into a haze of light and distance. Above them, data streams fall like waterfalls—endless columns of text and image, scrolling, brigh...

Chapter 19 in The Family Tree Paradox

The light spits him out. Not gently. Not the way it took him—that slow unraveling, the sensation of being pulled apart thread by thread. This is a shove. A hard shove between one breath and the next, and then his knees hit tile. Sam catches himself on his palms. The floor is pa...

Chapter 17 in The Family Tree Paradox

The apartment has become a temple to the word. Sam hears it in the way Nancy hums while making coffee, the way she stretches in the morning light, the way she whispers it against his skin in the dark hours when sleep won't come. Daddy. It's a word that reshapes the air around it...

Chapter 4 in What's Wrong With Me?

The next day, the war began. It didn't start with a bang, but with a low, insidious hum that vibrated just beneath the surface of her skin. The office, once a place of predictable routine, now felt like a minefield. Every glance, every casual touch, was a potential tripwire. It...
