Chapter 25 in The Prehistoric Future
Back in the city, a man in a hat and an old, tattered suit is humming to himself and kicking away cavie corpses. Giant footsteps of a long gone T-Rex are embedded in the ground, which he happily skips over. “Bloody mess,” he grins. “They’re long gone,” calls out the voice of th...

You don’t realize you’re dreaming at first. You’ve never been too good at that sort of thing. So when you find yourself grinning, sitting on the hard earth in front of a campfire with a dozen familiar voices laughing and jeering around you, you don’t see anything wrong with the w...

Chapter 20 in The Prehistoric Future
You return to the house and sweep it once, but you don’t need it. The creature seemed to be a solitary one, likely kicked from its mother’s nest to go find food for itself. You nod to yourself and head back to the living room; carefully setting down your bag and begin unpacking....

Chapter 19 in The Prehistoric Future

You don’t waste a second - you snatch Carmen’s hand in your own and wrench her behind you, sprinting towards the abandoned vehicles. She doesn’t trip, thankfully, and manages to keep up pace with you. One of the cavemen, an idiot, sees the two of you running and bounds at you, a...

Chapter 15 in The Prehistoric Future
You shake your head. “Too dangerous,” you say. “The city is a jungle. Everyone who turned into cavies are all still here. Best thing to do is move on; get out before dark and find somewhere quieter to hunker down.” Carmen frowns and looks forlornly at the apparent safety of the...
